Passing time causes anxiety

The crippled signs of time gone by
Plagued her daily existence.
Like silver blades that catch the rays
Reminding her of paths untaken.

Catching her eye the clocks tick on
Enhancing memories unmade
She prays to surface from the ocean of dreams
Yet her mind continues to reel.

She smile at the anger she causes herself
Yet it’s anger she cannot control
For as time dragged on,
It carved holes in her strength,
And control is what she now lacks.
