Rain in an empty car park

Light touching light,

Skin to cold air

Twirling away the day’s hardships

Into the dead music

Of her lonely nights.

Pelted skin

Desperate to perspire

As the sky does around her,

The earth, her destined dancefloor

No partner or music required

Breaking all laws of rhythm

With no audience to judge.

A circus-born elephant

Discovering natures intent

Beauty not in the moves,

But the emanating pride

Evident in her eyes.
